Melrose Park Pediatrics stands dedicated to being your family's biggest resource for raising healthy and happy children. With over 30 years worth of experience, our knowledgeable team enjoys providing quality care to children throughout the near west suburbs.

As your child’s medical provider, our physicians, physician assistants, and entire staff at Melrose Park Pediatrics collaborate with each family to provide excellent pediatric care, education, and support to every child.

Dr. Kundan Giri

Dr. Kundan Giri is a board-certified pediatrician and has been in private practice for over 35 years. He received his medical degree from Baroda Medical College, in Baroda, India. Dr. Giri completed his pediatric residency training at Michael Reese Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Chicago. He has served as Chairman of the pediatric departments at Gottlieb and Westlake Hospitals for several years. In his spare time, Dr. Kundan Giri enjoys golfing and spending time with his grand children.

Dr. Minal Giri

Dr. Minal Giri is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her pediatric internship at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Children's Hospital. Dr. Giri joined her father in practice at Melrose Park Pediatrics in 2002. She is on staff at Westlake Community Hospital, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and holds an academic appointment at Rush University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Giri is an active member of the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Currently, she serves on the Advisory Committee for the ICAAP Obesity Prevention Project. Dr. Giri is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati. Outside the office, she enjoys playing with her kids, writing and gardening.

Diana Perez, PA-C.

Diana Perez is a certified physician assistant who joined the Melrose Park practice in November, 2011. She did her undergraduate studies at Goshen College in Indiana, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation. In addition, she is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants. She has a special interest in patient education and infant development. She also enjoys playing basketball, cooking, and spending time with her family.

James Pecard, PA-C

James Pecard recently joined Melrose Park Pediatrics. He brings with him 12 years of experience working as a certified Physician Assistant in the Chicagoland area. He completed his undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and earned his Master in Medical Science degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.

James has been a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, Physician Assistants for Latino Health, and Society of Physician Assistants in Pediatrics. He also serves as a clinical lecturer for PA students at Northwestern University and recently received an award from the Physician Assistant Education Association for his work. James is a bilingual Spanish speaker. In his spare time he enjoys running, watching the Green Bay Packers win, spending time with his family, and taking his dog, Shiba to the beach.
